This chart compares how a similar procedure costs more with insurance. The copay, visit, injection, follow-up, and procedure all have different codes for insurance. Anything not negotiated by health insurance gets covered by the patient.


With Direct Pay, it can be much simpler. You pay a set price for your visit and know what you are getting. In some cases, a follow-up appointment is included, so there are no surprises.

Direct Primary Care (DPC) offers a way to access medical services and manage healthcare costs without involving insurance. Under this arrangement, you make payment and billing agreements directly with your healthcare provider.

However, if you're enrolled in a DPC plan, you might still need a high-deductible health plan or other insurance to cover unexpected emergencies and hospital stays.
